**: In compliance with health and safety rules, the Maintenance Assistant performs various tasks related to the upkeep and maintenance of the building. This may include, among other things, painting, plastering, laying ceramics, small carpentry work, changing lighting or taps, various installations, etc. As part of his/her duties, he/she may be required to move furniture or lift heavy loads. This person provides support to the maintenance manager in his tasks and responsibilities.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • All other related tasks
  • Change light bulbs in the common areas
  • Clean storage spaces and maintenance carts
  • Cleaning and performing floor maintenance duties in the common areas
  • Communicate the maintenance needs for materials and products and upkeep of the building to the immediate superior
  • Keep the work environment clean
  • Maintenance and cleaning of the ground and the swimming pool
  • Maintenance and cleaning of the lobby and corridors
  • Maintenance and monitoring of equipment (mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, pumps, furnaces, valves, etc.)
  • Make service calls
  • Manage apartment renovations in accordance with the program established by general management/the general manager
  • Minor repairs in apartments and common areas (plaster, paint, change lights, various installations, etc.)
  • Organise or perform all other related tasks regarding the maintenance department, as required and as requested by the immediate superior
  • Perform minor repairs in apartments and common areas
  • Preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Schedule and ensure that preventive maintenance is performed on equipment
  • Supervise the maintenance of the equipment
  • Taking out the trash

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

  • A DEP in general builing maintenance (as asset)
  • Diploma of vocational studies (DVS)
  • A working knowledge of building maintenance (Hvac, electrical, plumbing etc.)
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical and minor repairs
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years experience
  • Professional training in general building maintenance (an asset)
