Quality Assurance Inspector

Quality Inspector Duststop Air Filters Inc. is a local manufacturer of furnace air filters. We have been making Canadian Made product for over 40 years. We are currently looking for an experienced Quality Inspector. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for production quality verification and all associated documentation.

Location: Petrolia, ON

Hours: 40 Regular Hours per week Day Shift - Mon to Fri 7am - 3:30pm

1. Primary Responsibilities

  • Verify all production Lines to ensure that product meets customer requirements and specifications.
  • Perform a “First Off” report to approve change-overs.
  • Record each set of quality checks on Quality Audit check sheets.
  • Report findings that are out of compliance to the management team.
  • Be available as a resource for workers to answer questions regarding Quality.
  • Assist in training people that inspect on the Line.
  • Perform special projects as required e.g. preparing product samples or special shipments
  • Sorting both damaged goods and raw materials and completing scrap reports.
  • Tallying orders for the warehouse as required.
  • Maintain and promote a safe work area.
  • Liaise with production, supervisors and management in a timely manner to communicate quality concerns.
  • Collaborate effectively with afternoon shift quality person
  • When all quality checks are completed, report to the supervisor for additional assignments.

2. Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient with Office365 - Word, Excel, Outlook. Labelview an asset
  • Clear, legible handwriting.
  • Proven time management skills.
  • Must be able to read measuring tape, calipers, micrometer, run scales, and other quality measurement tools.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills required.

3. Work Environment

  • Fast paced production environment
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Manual lifting of up to 50 lbs

4. Education & Experience

  • Diploma/Degree in a technical, quality or relevant field experience preferred.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, six sigma, quality management an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years quality experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.

5. Remuneration
