Adecco is currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Advisor for a prestigious Canadian specialty aerospace and defense company located in Abbotsford, BC. Recommend corrective actions required for compliance and continuous improvementReview all first aid occurrences and investigate accordinglyAct as safety trainer for specified programs in compliance with corporate policy and proceduresEnsure OH&S accident and incident investigations are conducted appropriately and thoroughly, as per outlined in policies and proceduresSupport monthly joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee meetingsMonitor all hazard observations and maintain recordsAssist with the hazardous materials management program to ensure compliance with WHMIS/GHS regulations and internal policies and proceduresEnsure that adequate facilities and equipment are available to meet first aid requirementsLiaise with Human Resources regarding employee injuries and WSBC claimsAssist the OSH Manager in auditing safety practices to ensure regulatory compliance.Perform other duties as requiredRequirements and Qualifications:Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalencyFirst Aid - Level 2 certification is preferred3+ years' experience in a manufacturing and/or aviationExperience with Transport Canada Approved Safety Management or Department of National Defence Flight Safety System advantageousKnowledge of disability management and audit managementProficiency in Accident/Incident Investigations and Canadian Health & Safety Regulations (COSH)Familiarity with Industrial Hygiene practicesThorough understanding of WSBC regulations and proceduresExcellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)Strong time management and multitasking abilitiesIntermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite)Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work in a teamLegally eligible to work and reside in Canada
