What Awaits You:

  • Advance your career in this dynamic role, reporting to the Manager of Development & Environmental Services.
  • Play a lead role in shaping the urban core of the City of Maple Ridge
  • Dive into major planning projects, tackling some of the most intricate development applications.
  • Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, showcasing your leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Oversee, direct, and guide a team through the intricate review and processing of development applications.
  • Ensure adherence to established plans and directives, championing appropriate and sustainable development.

Your Profile:

  • A Master’s Degree in Urban, Regional, or equivalent, paired with an undergraduate degree in a related field(s).
  • Formal training in urban design and or architecture is an asset
  • A minimum of 8 years of development planning experience, preferably in local government or the private development industry.
  • Membership or eligibility for full membership in the Planning Institute of BC.
  • Possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Thorough knowledge of planning and urban design principles, practices, and laws.
  • Proactive leadership with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with organizational finesse.

*Please note hourly wages are from 2023 and these will increase approximately by 3% once the union finishes negotiations with management.
