Description Vantage is looking for a self-starter in the role of a Paralegal, NAto be part of the Legal Department. In addition to providing excellent attention to detail, this candidate must bring a proactive, business and solution-oriented mindset to all matters. In this role, the candidate will work closely with the Legal, Construction, Operations, Leasing, Finance and other departments to review and analyze contracts, work authorizations and corporate documents prior to finalization. Ideal candidates for this role will have either in-house legal department or law firm experience, a passion for growing a business, and experience in continuous improvement and driving enhancements that benefit the Company. Essential Job FunctionsMaintain legal documents for the Legal Department.Draft, review and analyze commercial contracts, proposals, and other related documents for validation prior to the issuance of a contract.Assist with preparation and execution of work authorizations (project authorizations, statements of work, and service orders), ensuring that work authorizations are consistent with executed contracts.Facilitate contract processes and act as point person for the Legal Department.Work closely with the Legal Department on different corporate documents and contracts. Work with other departments within Vantage to update processes to work more efficiently.Work closely with the Legal Department to ensure company compliance with applicable legislation.Coordinate with other departments in Vantage in support of legal department objectives.DutiesReview scopes of work for conflicts with executed agreements.Assist with preparation and execution of work authorizations.Serve as a liaison between several departments within Vantage for legal, contract, financial, compliance items.Analyze quotes and change order requests from vendors.Prepare reports as needed to track progress of contract documents.Issue, collect, and update onboarding procedures and documentations.Administer and track workflow of contracts to make sure all are fully executed.Develop various work tools and templates to work more efficiently.Update legal templates.Update legal and corporate processes for different departments. Facilitate Ironclad, SharePoint or other contract management process flow for contracts.Assist with legal policies and initiatives, including contract management.Perform legal translation (from English to French, and vice-versa). Gather and validate information for completion of contracts, legal procedures, etc.Issue, track and archive contracts.Conduct legal research.Create and maintain the Canadian legal calendar and important deadlines.Collect and verify insurance certificate regarding our insurance requirements.Job RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in a contract administration or contract analyst or paralegal role.Experience utilizing enterprise resource planning or contract management software, preferred.Experience in the construction industry, preferred.Strong written and verbal skills.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret legal and technical documents.Excellent organization, time management and problem-solving skills that enable the candidate to juggle multiple responsibilities at once and consistently meet tight deadlines.Expertise in working with Microsoft applications, DocuSign and SharePoint.Impeccable integrity, credibility, character and ethics.Bilingual (French and English).Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role requiring daily interaction with counterparts in the Legal, Compliance and Insurance departments whose stakeholders are located in the USA, and whose language of communication is English.
