This critical role involves ensuring the safe and efficient loading and unloading of Cobalt-60 sources, maintaining radiation safety standards, and supporting our clients' needs. The position also offers exciting opportunities for international travel, as you will be involved in assisting with installations, maintenance, and upgrades at customer sites worldwide. Permanent position Hours: Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Salary: $60,000 - $80,000/year Advantages This company in Ottawa offers you: - competitive salary - permanent, full-time work! - benefits coverage day 1 (employer/employee split) - rrsp matching program after 3 months of employment - international travel - supportive and friendly work environment - making a positive global impact Responsibilities As a Global Field Service Technician for this great company located in Ottawa, a normal day would include: - installation, testing and upgrading of Cobalt-60 radioactive sources and irradiator equipment - administrative duties: reporting on service orders, equipment status updates and recommendations - coach and instruct customers on how to maintain the equipment - follow and implement health and safety guidelines Qualifications Who is the perfect match for this position? - 3-year diploma as a technologist (with an electric, mechanic or electromechanical specialization) - 3-5 years experience in a relevant field service role or appropriate relevant experience - ability to travel internationally (175/year), work in hot environments and lift 25 lbs - experience with PLCs - be able to work in a team and also independently - able to be organized and have excellent time management skills This position is deemed a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW). A Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) is defined by the Nuclear Safety and Control Act as a person who is required, in the course of the person’s business, or occupation in connection with a nuclear substance or nuclear facility to perform duties in such circumstances that there is a reasonable probability that the person may receive a dose of radiation that is greater than the prescribed limit for the general public (1 mSv per year for the whole body).
