DIRECT SUPPORT WORKER AWAKE OVERNIGHT :

About the role : As an awake direct support overnight, you are there to make a difference in helping make a home environment for the individuals supported, promoting independence, providing care and support during the morning routines as well as ensuring the needs of the individuals are met.

During the shift, you would be responsible for basic meal preparations, cleaning and sanitizing, medication administration as well as assisting with hygiene care.

The awake direct support has a fundamental role in ensuring a great start to the supported individuals day

WAGE : $ 24.05 - $ 27.42

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in the social services field, such as a DSW/PSW or enrolled in a related college or university program is preferred. OR Related experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• CPR, Emergency First Aid, NVCI
• G license required.

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to advocate for others
• Strong problem-solving skills and takes initiative in making improvements
• Ability to contribute to a safe environment for co-workers and clients.
• Can communicates respectfully, openly and honestly.
• Demonstrated experience working with adults with an intellectual/developmental disability is preferable.
