Our client is now actively in the market for junior to mid-level Estate Litigation Associate to join their group of experts in their beautifully renovated new office space.
Responsibilities include:
- Review, evaluate and advise clients on legal matters related to estates, trusts, probate, and related litigation.
- Draft legal pleadings, memoranda, and other documents required for litigation proceedings.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, settlement negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
- Communicate with clients, courts, administrators, and other relevant parties.
- Monitor changes in estate, trust, and probate laws to ensure that clients are receiving relevant and current legal advice.
- Client development and engaging in marketing initiatives.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- 1- 5 years of post-call litigation experience from a recognized Canadian law firm. Preference will be given to those candidates with Estate Litigation experience; however, we will also consider candidates with a background in general litigation and family law, who have a strong desire to practice in Estate Litigation
- Willingness and the desire to take initiative
- Strong analytical, communication and drafting skills
- Client service orientated with excellent interpersonal skills
- Team orientated
- Must be qualified to practice law in Canada
