Student Engagement Assistant

Reporting to the Associate Director, Student Engagement, or designate, the Student Engagement Assistants work as a team to facilitate opportunities that foster student connection, community development, and a greater awareness of university resources for all RRU students.  All Student Engagement Assistants have the opportunity to take leadership within a particular area of student outreach.  Responsibilities of each Engagement Assistant will vary, but may include: the coordination of on- and off-campus activities and events; the coordination of recreation activities and RRU Intramural sports on-campus; the facilitation of online orientation sessions; the development and implementation of student communications through social media email, phone, and digital newsletters; and the delivery of campus tours. The Engagement Assistants may also assist with administrative event planning support for the Royal Roads University Student Association (RRUSA) and other registered student organizations.Job RequirementsA registered student at RRU  Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsExperience successfully organizing activities and eventsEnthusiasm for working in a multicultural environmentAble to take initiative and to work independently Experience working with various platforms of social media (including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter)Enthusiasm for welcoming new students to RRU Able to work flexible hours, evening and weekendsAdditional InformationThis is a casual, on-call position. The hourly rate is $21.54.
