As the Activities assistant at Evergreen Manor, you will help develop and implement wellness programs that promote healthy living and community engagement, while building relationships with Residents, team members and external organizations. Requirements Grade 12 education and completion of recognized recreational courses for seniors. Experience working with seniors and organizing senior group activities and or related combinations of equivalent education, training, and experience. Valid Class 4 unrestricted drivers designation (is preferred or willingness to gain within 3 months). About The Role Employment Type: Part-Time, 3 days per week Scheduled Hours: 8-4 pm, 7.5 hours per day. As the Activities Assistant, you play an important role in planning and organizing events and programs that promote wellness and community among Residents, as well as handling logistics and coordination to ensure seamless operations. You are responsible to design and update activity calendars, notices, and timetables, supervising event setup and takedown, and coordinating bus rides for both Independent Living and Assisted Living residents. This entails driving the Baptist Housing bus, organizing engaging activities, and considering comments from residents and team members. Your responsibilities extend to compiling and maintaining important documentation like attendance records, progress reports, and activity plans as per the Activity Coordinator’s requests. You also contribute to building a resource network of individuals, volunteers, and organizations, and support health and safety practices within the team, actively working to identify and mitigate unsafe practices to promote a safe working environment Your work location, our Independent living and affordable housing at Evergreen Manor. Your ability to work both independently and collaboratively is a testament to your versatility. You excel at time management, efficiently scheduling and prioritizing activities to ensure a balanced and engaging daily routine for residents. Moreover, you have a keen eye for detail and a compassionate nature, enabling you to observe and recognize changes in residents' overall well-being, whether physical, emotional, or psychological. You are proactive in attending recommended relevant conferences, workshops, and events, ensuring you stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in senior care. Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package, featuring an hourly wage of $24.48.
