Lead Hand - Electrical

The purpose of the Lead Hand - Electrical role is to be responsible and accountable for supporting the underground electrical supervisor in various tasks pertaining to the department and ensure equipment is repaired and maintained safely and efficiently at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

Roster : 7 days on / 7 days off - 12 hour shifts

Residential Role - No Camp/No FIFO

About our Operation

Our Red Lake Operation is located in an area where you will experience the best in Northern lifestyle, in the heart of a lake-studded, boreal forest region in Sunset Country. Red Lake is known for its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and incredible Canadian fishing in the many freshwater lakes in the area. The Red Lake district is located 180 kilometers north of Dryden about 100 kilometers from the Manitoba border in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. It spans 42,000 hectares and has produced over 29 million ounces of gold since 1949. Our Red Lake Operation includes underground mining and processing complexes in Balmertown and Cochenour, as well as the Bateman Project.

About the role

The Lead Hand - Electrical role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide leadership and instructions to underground Electricians.

Key result areas in this role include : Supervise projects or special assignments assigned to you by the Supervisor - Electrical

Communicate with all departments regarding service needs

Provide temporary relief during supervisor’s absence including mentorship, coaching, record documentation, line up and other requests as needed

About you

As a Lead Hand - Electrical, you will have a Grade 12 Secondary School diploma and Journeyperson Electrical certification. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate: Several years of experience working in an underground environment

Intermediate computer skills

Comprehensive understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants

Maintains emotional control under stress and applies tact under difficult circumstances

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with others

Superior organizational and prioritization abilities

Effective planning and directing skills, and sound delegating ability

Motivates others and encourages a climate of teamwork and cooperation

Possesses sound coaching and mentoring capabilities
