Quality Control Manager

Role Purpose : Ensuring a safe working environment and promoting safety initiatives within the Hot Mix Asphalt Quality Control group. Overseeing daily production operations to produce high-quality, cost-effective asphalt products. Managing the usage of raw materials such as sand, gravel, asphalt cement, additives, and recycled materials. Reporting product usage and inventory to accounting. Supporting the hiring, retention, and development of Quality Control technicians. Managing and supervising plant personnel in order to meet production targets. Implementing cost control measures while maintaining product quality. Overseeing and managing equipment maintenance and making recommendations for improvement Troubleshooting asphalt mix issues at plants and in the field. Ensuring environmental compliance and reporting. Scheduling Quality Control personnel. Driving Key Performance Indicators such as mix optimization, design optimization, and recycling efficiency Maintaining knowledge of asphalt drum and batch plants and all related facilities. Collaborating with laboratory personnel to develop and implement quality control procedures. Maintaining laboratory certifications and leading quality control performance and process initiatives. Keeping up-to-date with industry developments and implementing new technologies. Key Responsibilities : Bilingualism in French and English required Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience in asphalt production or testing Thorough understanding of MTO LS, MTQ, ASTM, and AASHTO procedures. Strong knowledge of raw materials procurement and cost control. Excellent leadership and personnel management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience leading and managing a team of lab technicians. Knowledge of municipal and MTO/MTQ specifications. Our purpose At Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP), our people are second to none.
