Dispatcher Traffic Control Part-Time

United Traffic is hiring a part-time Dispatcher to work out of our office in Langley. This role is on-site and not remote. Training times will vary over the first few weeks. The normal schedule, with expected flexibility for coverage, will be Monday to Friday 5am to 10am. No previous dispatching experience is needed but strong English communication skills, phone etiquette, Microsoft 365, additional software learning abilities and team work are required.

OVERVIEW

The Dispatcher supports United Traffic’s growth by actively maintaining client accounts while supporting daily dispatch operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

DISPATCH

· Answer calls and emails from clients and Field Team

· Meet client requirements for traffic control, information, issues and safety concerns

· Contact clients for additional traffic control needs to maximize Field Team

· Reassign Field Team as required (ex. time-off requests, sick days, no-shows, client needs, Field Team skills) and utilize sub-contractors when necessary

· Assess current Dispatch overview to ensure adequate Field Team coverage for optimization

· Understand and utilize Traffic Management Plans to ensure accurate dispatch

· Maintain client, sub-contractor and Field Team databases including TCP Certificate expiries

· File dispatch program reports and forms, communicate findings with Operations

· Perform various admin duties including data entry (ex. new hires & clients) into dispatching program

· Relay to and gather information from Field Team (ex. reminders, information, changes, weekend availability)

· Manage conflicts quickly and professionally ensuring decision-making is based on United Traffic’s mission, vision and values

ACCOUNT MAINTENANCE

· Act as a point of contact for all client inquiries and concerns

· Build and foster client relationships ensuring their needs are met while securing continuous sales growth

· Provide pricing or service agreements to clients upon request

· Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

· Coordinate with the Dispatch Team and the TMP Department to determine needs with existing clients

GROWTH & STRATEGY

· Identify new clients in region through online searches, scouting and referrals

· Input client activities in CRM system to help plan, prioritize and assist cross-department efforts

· Execute the current sales strategy outlined by Senior Management while working to establish United Traffic as the traffic company of choice

· Collaborate with internal teams to identify and grow opportunities within region, while ensuring the timely and successful delivery of company solutions according to client needs and objectives

· Work independently and as part of a team to reach company operational goals within a given timeframe

· Stay current on emerging companies, major projects and industry trends and share intel with Sales and Operations

· Lead and drive forecasting for peak seasons

· Assist Senior Management with developing strategies, presentations and proposals for existing clients

· Record and track all metrics related to sales strategies; reviews and develop client service and retention plans

· Communicate client concerns on service and delivery to Operations during meetings to ensure that standards are met

· Collaborate with stakeholders to align market strategies with applicable business objectives for the portfolio

OTHER

· Redirect all other enquiries to the appropriate department (ex. media enquiries)

· Escalate issues or conflicts to Operations when necessary

· Report any abuse or policy violations to Operations

· Attend Safety Meetings if required or discuss improvements that can be made to the Field Team

· Support the Health & Safety program

· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Operations

ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Accuracy of jobs booked in

· Percentage of Field Team dispatched daily to metric

· Ten minutes to respond to phone call and emails

· Meet deadlines, commitments and dispatch targets

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

· 1-3 years of account maintenance, sales or marketing experience with proven success; construction field considered an asset

· Post-Secondary Education in Business, Marketing or Sales considered an asset

· Building and delivering metrics and reports

· Ability to build and grow relationships with stakeholders at various levels

· Comprehensive knowledge of United Traffic’s products and services

· Strong organization and project management skills

· Solid experience with CRM software and other sales tools, Microsoft 365, Internet and PC

· Experience delivering client-focused solutions

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

OTHER

· PAY STRUCTURE: Non-Union Hourly

· REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

· DIRECT REPORTS: None

· LATERAL COMMUNICATION: Dispatch, TMP, Sales

· PROBATION: 3 Months

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.86 per hour
