Business Intelligence Analyst, Fundraising Insights The Position Reporting to the Senior Manager, Insights & Analytics for Marketing, Philanthropy and Communications, this role is a key contributor to our organizational efforts to enabling a robust view of our constituents, partners, programs, and internal performance by fostering a data-driven culture through providing the right insights, to the right people, at the right time. This role will specialize in Philanthropy and Fundraising domain knowledge but will also support those team members who specialize in marketing and communications analytics. You will translate briefs into quantitative questions that can be answered with our available data using sound methodologies You will collaborate with Prospect Managers, Prospect Researchers, and portfolio owners on the Philanthropy team to assist in the development of segmented donor analysis, ensuring a consistent and integrated approach to donor segmentation and reporting throughout the donor lifecycle You will be responsible for analyzing Philanthropy campaigns, pipeline and portfolio performance, as well as identifying trends within the donor base. Working with large data sets, you will extract, prepare and analyze data, and report back on key insights to improve performance and effectiveness You will lead the integration and operationalization of our Voice of Donor-initiatives, working with our internal stakeholder, vendors and IT-partners to elevate our stakeholders’ voice in our decision-making You will proactively identify opportunities to use data, analytics and insights to generate improved results and efficiency for the Philanthropy team You will be working in our primary enterprise applications Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, various internal data integrations, and our cloud data platform, Snowflake What does success look like? Translate functional requirements into technical specifications needed to implement and deliver required reports and data extracts Visualize data and conduct written and verbal presentations to share insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication Coordinate with other team members to deliver cross functional solutions and data integrations Keep abreast of product functionality and relevant industry trends in philanthropy, including donor segmentation, pipeline management, donor stewardship, planned giving and donor screening Develop and implement systems to monitor strategic donor KPIs across the donor lifecycle including donor retention, migration, lapsed, and opportunity identification Pro-actively provide actionable fundraising data analysis, reporting and insights to answer key business needs within the Philanthropy team Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders through clear understanding of evolving business needs As our ideal candidate you will have: An intellectual curiosity and drive related to using data to solve business problems Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, and a drive to generate continuous improvement Experience supporting Philanthropy and Fundraising departments, and solid understanding of the fundraising or sales best practices, the donor lifecycle and pipeline development methodologies A solution-oriented approach, experience telling stories that connect the dots between the business and its data, working with a wide range of stakeholders, and communicate the value of data and challenges to using it well Experience developing and working with complex SQL-queries developed by others Certificates in Data Analysis, Data Visualization and Business Intelligence an asset Previous experience with Salesforce applications and Snowflake and exposure to applications such as Power BI, Tableau, or other BI solutions a significant asset Familiarity with designing and implementing research projects from inception to completion: writing proposals, drafting the questionnaires, and deploying surveys, analyzing the data, reporting, and presenting the findings to internal stakeholders Personal values consistent with those of Plan International’s organizational values Full time, Permanent Hybrid.
