ServerThe Server will contribute to the overall success of the hotel by providing superior customer service and upholding quality standards for Coast Hotels Food & Beverage operations. Responsibilities: Provides customer service through the completion of routine duties and tasks such as taking, relaying, and serving food and/or beverage orders, pouring all drinks as per Serving it Right industry standards, providing food and/or beverage product knowledge, managing reservations, handling cash, cheques, credit and debit card transactions in accordance with Hotel PoliciesActs as an ambassador for Coast including greeting guests, making them feel welcome, and handling basic inquiriesAdheres to quality and industry standards when completing tasksChecks on guest satisfaction and follows up on requests where possible and appropriateEnsures the safety and security of the property, the ambassadors and guests when completing tasksStocks supplies and maintains inventory levelsDemonstrates a customer service attitude with internal/external contactsOther duties as required Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Industry-specific certifications such as FOODSAFE and Serving It Right (or equivalent) Hepatitis A vaccination is recommendedProfessional attitude and appearanceExcellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skillsCash handling experience an assetAbility to multi-task High attention to detailExemplifies Coast’s core values and enjoys working in a culture of accountability Additional Skills: Secondary school diploma preferredStrong time management and organizational skills Knowledge of health and safety regulations Knowledge of menu items Ability to work as part of a team and independentlyIndustry-specific certifications such as Food & Beverage Server and asset Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays
