JOB PURPOSE: The FSQA Technician, PM Shift monitors compliance on the production floor and implements Food Safety and Quality programs. *Please note this is a PM shift role* WHY WORK AT CONESTOGA MEATS? Growing company with opportunity to grow with team and department Stable full-time hours; no rotating shifts Employee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire) Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of service Pension plan and company matching at 1 year of service Floater day given on top of vacation days Diverse workforce; translation of communication materials into 8 languages Discounts on quality pork products Employee assistance program (financial assistance, mental health resources) Social Committee events (food trucks, gifts, games) BBQ's and wellness programs On-site training and company provided equipment Employee scholarship program and English courses KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Back up for different roles including HIP Tech and MSIP Tech Assist in Independent FSQA Audit Program - GMP/Food Safety & BRC Audits Assist in implementation of the QA Program - Quality Management, supplier quality conformance and customer compliant process Assist in supplier approval process including record keeping Participates in daily specification evaluation to identify possible defects Assist with Validation studies Accurately complete required forms/checklists Able to lead and drive completion of Root Cause Analysis Audit processes and help to identify opportunities for improvements Participate in operational project teams for quality improvement and/or cost reduction Trending and verification of corrective action effectiveness for Customer complaints, supplier issues and other non-conformances Distribution Center food safety program auditor Domestic product inspector Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed Personal Development Attending company required training Remain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibility Attend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessions QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Food Science, Microbiology, or Human Ecology required Post-Secondary Education in Food Science or a related field preferred 1-2 years of food manufacturing experience Knowledgeable of and able to be trained on procedures, programs, and systems, including but not limited to: Incoming ingredients, Rework, Environmental and sanitation, Hold and Release program, Consumer complaints investigations Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, & Word) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general program instructions. Incumbents must demonstrate the ability to monitor and record basic program characteristics on plant records Must demonstrate ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
