Some of the most challenging things you will face will include working effectively with a team in emotionally charged situations, communicating with distressed family and bystanders, clearly documenting complex events, and practicing diplomacy and empathy when your role may be misunderstood. Some situations will be unpredictable and demand independent, quick decisions where there may not be a clear “right” answer. In this role, you can expect to:Provide patient care and transportation by ambulance in pre-hospital emergency situations, always using critical thinking and safe work practices.Advocate for patients through effective communication with colleagues, allied health care professionals and public safety partners.Be responsible for the safe operation of ambulances.Identify issues and strategies to address complex program or system-wide issues which will enhance service delivery and patient care.What you bring: Qualifications:Minimum of 19 years of ageCurrent PCP license to practice in the province of British Columbia (issued by EMALB); those with an EMR license issued by EMALB are also encouraged to apply.
