Responsibilities : Responsible for secure opening and closing of the main doors in the administration building during normal hours of operation.
Sorts and distributes incoming mail; processes outgoing mail, processes incoming cheques and cash; orders supplies for and fills the postage meter.
Maintains awareness of the entire Town’s operations, procedures, and policies to provide exceptional customer service to the public.
Provides a broad range of information requiring varying degrees of research and personal contact concerning the Town’s services including various municipal programs, and products in accordance with customer service protocols, regulations, procedures, and various legislations, as applicable. Areas of knowledge include recreation, public works, by-law enforcement, planning and engineering.
Responsible for receiving and accurately processing daily payments for property taxes, utilities, program registrations, facility bookings, memberships, point of sale transactions and other revenues.
Updates the website in a timely manner with respect to public meeting dates, times and locations and assists in booking internal meeting rooms when required.
Qualifications : Successful completion of Grade 12 High School diploma.
Certificate in business, accounting or customer service as well as experience in a municipal environment, retail or a call center environment preferred.
1 year of experience in a Customer Service within a Call Centre Environment preferred.
Experience with Great Plains and Perfect Mind would be considered an asset
Verbal and communication skills required to communicate information to the public in an appropriate manner.
Experience handling cash, and operating cash registers and point of sale machines to process monetary transactions.
Must be available for call-in to work shifts at the Town Administration Centre in Alliston from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Salary : $22.89/hr, plus 4% vacation pay
