In November 2022, Latecoere completed the acquisition of Canadian-domiciled Avcorp Industries, becoming Latecoere’s Aerostructures Canadian unit. 5-AXIS CNC MACHINIST General Summary Latecoere is seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. As a Senior CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setups and operating 4 & 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality Aerospace parts. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and self inspection will be essential to ensure precision and accuracy in the manufacturing process. Primary Responsibilities Set up and operate Mitsui Seiki CNC machines with Fanuc controls to perform machining operations according to specifications. Note: CNC programming is done offline by separate department Machining of aluminum parts to aircraft standards and verify the dimensions of products using precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy Read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements Setup appropriate tools, offsets and fixtures for each job and operate a variety of machine tools to perform precise machining operations according to project specifications. · Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency · Inspect finished products for accuracy and adherence to specifications · Troubleshoot issues with machines or programs and make necessary repairs or adjustments · Collaborate with engineering and programmer teams to optimize processes and improve product quality · Maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications and Experience BC or Interprovincial journeyman designation as a Machinist preferred, may consider the right candidate who demonstrates to the Company that he/she has sufficient experience Minimum 3 year’s experience in a CNC Machining environment; exposure to 3, 4 and 5-Axis Machining Centers. CNC Lathe and Manual Milling Machine an asset. Ability to note and convey machining problems or solutions to programming dept. Ability to understand G & M codes as well as set up documentation, Understanding of Work Offset, Tool Offset requirements in set up documentation Demonstrated knowledge of machine shop practices, principles of mechanics, machine tool operations, use of precision measuring instruments Possess a good overall knowledge of Cutting Tool Geometries, Tool Condition to identify machining issues Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing symbols, understanding of importance, use of and application of Datum’s, Tolerancing in reference to Datum’s Fluent in the use of Fanuc, Mazak, Fadal CNC Controls Diligence in understanding of Aerospace Standards and SOP’s as laid out in Work Orders.
