About the OpportunityValley Regional Hospital (VRH) is seeking an anesthesiologist to work with a collegial team of ten anesthesiologists who value work-life balance. Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) opened its doors to patients in . The hospital serves the people of Kings and Annapolis Counties, and provides specialty services as a referral centre for the Annapolis Valley and other areas of Western Nova Scotia. Located in Kentville, VRH is a inpatient bed facility that provides inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care to approximately 80, residents. The facility completes approximately 5, cases/year with deliveries/year. There is a full surgical program with after-hours surgical coverage for emergency and non-elective procedures. Services: surgical services internal medicine services (including cardiology and respirology) intensive care emergency medicine obstetrics pediatrics radiology/diagnostic imaging psychiatry/mental health and addiction services Responsibilities work a full scope of practice as an anesthesiologist to provide care to the patients within Western Zone surgical services covered at VRH include: general surgery, orthopedic surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, ENT (including pediatric inpatients) special interest in intensive care and/or pain management would be assets participating in call shifts provide support to the Western Zone if required, which includes day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage be responsible to the Zone Anesthesia Department Head for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority Expected Hours full-time equal participation in 1:10 on-call schedule (on-call stipend available) Qualifications all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the (CPSNS) all specialists must be eligible for certification with the (RCPSC) membership with the (CMPA)
