Embedded within Egis’s land development process is a thorough assessment of natural features on each site. Our meticulous plans are designed to minimize environmental impacts while ensuring the sustainable development of your project.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario;
  • Experience as a Drainage Engineer (sound understanding of the Drainage Act);
  • 5+ years experience on land development projects, specifically with experience under the Drainage Act;
  • Background in sub-division or experience working in engineering designs of sub-divisions is an asset;
  • Authored an Engineers Report under the Drainage Act within the last 5 years;
  • Certified Drainage Superintendent is an asset;
  • Design skills with good working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French would also be an asset);
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, time management and ability to think creatively;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team;
  • Experienced with project management and has worked in, or understands the consulting engineering environment;
  • Working knowledge of modelling software is an asset (PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, EPANET, etc.); and
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completion of engineering design and for a wide variety of projects, with specific focus on components such as lot/site grading and drainage and stormwater management;
  • Authoring Engineers Report under the Drainage Act;
  • Completing counsel presentations with stakeholders and landowners, and interacting with township and city staff;
  • Identifying deficiencies and problem-solving maintenance requirements;
  • Preparing assessment schedules for municipal drains;
  • Providing leadership within the Land Owner Appeals, Tribunal and Referee process under the Drainage Act;
  • Professionally representing Egis Canada at public information sessions and delivering presentations;
  • Maintain positive client relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with industry professionals, consultants and other business leaders.
