Position: Payroll Specialist. Type: Permanent Full-Time Location: Etobicoke, ON (Hybrid) Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 We are looking for a Payroll Specialist for one of North America's industrial gas and engineering companies. If you answered 'yes' to all of these questions, then this role may be for you! #Etobicoke #Mississauga Advantages In this Payroll Specialist role in Etobicoke, you will have the following benefits: - Competitive annual pay with merit based annual increments - Fully Employer Paid extended health Insurance including Dental & Vision. - Life Insurance - Paid Vacation (PTO) days with discretionary and sick days - RRSP matching up to 2% - Hybrid work structure Responsibilities In this Payroll Specialist role in Etobicoke, you will have the following responsibilities: - Full cycle of a biweekly payroll or weekly payroll - Assists with documenting and maintaining SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) - Interpreting and applying union contracts and for updating increases - Processing SAP maintenance: Maintain employee personnel and payroll records in the HRIS system, Payroll system and personnel files, ensuring all information is current, accurate and compliant with all company policies and procedures - Prepare various calculations (sub plan, short term payments, partial payments, retroactive payments, claw backs, supplemental vacation, vacation pay, statutory calculations, etc.) - Analyze/investigate/action various scheduled payroll reports - Time entry updates and investigations if needed - Run reports, review, and reconcile third-party payroll remittances and complete/submit Cheque Requisitions - Analyze and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts - Verify accurate calculation of wages, tax withholding, and company deductions - Support the team with processing of all applicable payroll requirements as defined by the change to the employee e.g., new hire, rate change retro, top-up, pay adjustments, termination pay, ROE etc. - Assist in the PIER analysis and actioning discrepancies - Assist with managing risk within payroll functions by monitoring compliance with all applicable policies including payroll statutory requirements, provincial and federal legislation, and regulations Qualifications As a successful candidate for this Payroll Specialist role in Etobicoke, you will demonstrate the following competencies: Must Haves: - National Payroll Institute certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) - Experience with unionized payroll, working with collective agreements - A minimum of 3 years processing payroll with UKG OR Kronos is required - Multi-province payroll experience required Please note that all applicants are welcome, however, only qualified candidates will be contacted.
