Our expectations: The DZ Driver operates vehicles which require a “DZ” licence designation to deliver material to customers in accordance with safety regulations.  Your role:  Prepare vehicles for delivery Verify that all products are securely loaded and protected from the elements and that all accompanying paperwork is available Operate vehicles to transport material to private homes and construction sites  Park vehicles in designated area(s) and obtain necessary signatures from the receiver once unloaded Operate two-way radios and cell phones to receive instructions and provide status updates  Perform routine vehicle maintenance on tractor-trailers, including documenting daily inspections and ensuring safety equipment, straps, and paperwork are in place  Perform other job-related duties as required The qualifications we are looking for: Valid “DZ” level driver’s licence Familiarity with basic house building construction in order to give direction to loaders on sequencing of loads Good communication skills and ability to understand customer requirements Familiarity with wood grading standards and ability to identify products Good knowledge of the layout of city roadways, awareness of road restrictions, and ability to source alternative routes RONA is committed to encouraging diversity and inclusion.
