Shop Helper Shipper/receiver - Metal Fabrication

Liftsafe Engineering and Service Group, Inc. (LESG), a member of The Liftsafe Group of Companies, supplies overhead cranes, jib cranes, gantry crane, hoists and inspections to a large customer base throughout Ontario, Canada. We also provide custom fabrication/installation solutions for our customers - ladders, mezzanines, platforms etc.

We're looking to add a shop helper to the team!

Duties of the role will include:

• Responsible for shipping and receiving internal and external materials.
• Organizing materials for jobs as parts are received.
• Put stock away and involvement of inventory organization.
• Maintain shop cleanliness including garbage, recycling.
• Report hazards promptly to your supervisor
• Complete stock checks and pick lists.
• Safe / competent operation of lift truck
• Loading and offloading of trucks
• Work with the Logistics Coordinator to track and maintain internal purchases.
• Packaging items for shipment - shrink wrap, strapping, creating custom sized skids
• Delivery in company vehicles
• Fabrication shop - material handling
• Final assembly - decaling and packaging
• Product painting

Other duties as assigned

• Prior experience in a shipping/receiving role
• Certified on forklift/lift truck.
• Prior experience using overhead cranes.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic to intermediate computer skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team to accomplish projects
• Prior experience in a metal fabrication shops an asset
• A clean driver's abstract and a valid G license.

Job Types : Full-time, Permanent

Salary : $18.41-$24.03 per hour

Experience :

• Fabrication shop: 1 year (preferred)
• shipper/receiver: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driver's License (preferred)
