Commodity Manager About the Role Location Canada Quebec Lachine Company Siemens Energy Canada Limited Organization Gas Services Business Unit Central Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your DayAs a Commodity Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating supplier relationships and strategies for your respective commodity within the designated external buy and internal make supply chain. Create and manage supplier contracts in order to achieve Siemens Business requirements related to Supplier’ performance and adherence to the contract.·Engage with local and global partners, heads of commodities and heads of site within the commodities/categories to which they are assigned·Lead specific supplier relationships fulfilling the accountabilities. As Commodity Manager, the main function in leading supplier relationship will be to ensure that internal and external suppliers fulfill their obligations as detailed through the terms and conditions of the contract and/or purchase orders. The candidate will also be responsible to identify and propose the most appropriate means of managing supplier relationship if the minimum requirements of terms and conditions cannot be achieved.·Responsible for establishing cases to ensure the viability of any proposed program. This will require the creation and/or deployment of Cost Models for designated commodities/services/products and the development and delivery of the agreed financial commitments.·Commodity manager will have to ensure appropriate program development with all commercial requirements formalized and completed beforehand over to operational purchasing for day-to-day management. The candidate is mandated to ensure accurate hand over with all systems updated with the supplier information included but not limited to banking information, capability matrix, so as to minimize total cost and inefficiencies at hand over.·Responsible for the development and execution of assigned commodity strategy(s). This will require the candidate to lead global and local requirements with the responsible partners to ensure that the execution of the strategy fulfills the requirements of the business.·Commodity manager is responsible to ensure that purchasing, cost reduction targets are met by complete on the strategy, working with Engineering and Subject Matter expert to identify areas of improvement related to manufacturing of the component and preparing negotiation strategies to find opportunities to drive improved cost position·Responsible for execution of strategic transfers required to improve costs, supply chain performance or de-risk business continuity concerns. The candidate will be mandated to identify a solution to a common purchasing issue and will be responsible to plan implement the solution via a cross-functional team set up to support the project. Aside from delivering the project, the candidate will be responsible to ensure that solution is fully documented, fully bought-off by business heads and protected through contract or long-term agreements.·Commodity manager has the responsibility to negotiate on behalf of Siemens Energy terms and conditions in order to achieve business requirements. This may require global alignment with other commodity managers representing other sites of Siemens Energy·Responsible for counter measures where a commercial decision(s) is required for resolution of part specific delivery issues (including New Product Introduction). The commodity manager will be responsible to resolve the value of any claims associated to late deliveries, non-quality and failure of the supplier to meet contractual obligations. The candidate will propose claim amount, draft claim letters and own the resulting achievement of the claim.·Accountable and responsible for setting up all ERP and SAP information specific to the supplier in order to ensure and maintain compliance to system requirements and effective operational requirements.·Accountable for ensuring that all purchase documents are issued and maintained as appropriate including the required governmental regulations. This includes export control, global sourcing board, gate-1 forms to initiate PPQs and contract control documents such as CRAs.·Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, commerce or relevant field·Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management with exposure to manufacturing is required - 3 Years with relevant Master's Degree·Understanding of contracts and their legal implications is required·Understands manufacturing or service processes and the cost drivers·Understands the Total Cost of Acquisition impact·Understands and operates Supplier Relationship Management·Very good knowledge of French both written and spokenOur Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization.
