Overview Fountain Tire Provost, an established automotive repair shop, is looking for responsible, safe and dedicated associates to join our team as a Journeyman Automotive Service Technician. Position: Full time, permanent Wage: $32-$38/hour (wage based on experience)Benefits: Full Health, Dental, Vision and, RRSP MatchingWhat is in it for you? We will develop your skills and certifications with our excellent training programs and the opportunity for advancement.Regular shifts with the opportunity for overtime work.Primary Responsibilities:Obtaining a clear understanding of the customers concerns from reviewing the work order and discussing any potential problems with the shop supervisor.Identify performance problems while using the diagnostic equipment and advising the customers and customer-facing associates on the work performed, general vehicle condition, and future suggested maintenance schedules and repair requirements.Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, fluid level checks, tire rotations, lubrications, and tune ups.Complete and maintain a variety of safety courses including Whimis, TIA, Rim Safety course, and Customer Experience Standards.Ensure a safe workplace by adhering to all “work safe” protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and your coworkers.Operate company and customer vehicles in a clean and safe manner.Maintain mechanical service equipment on a regularly scheduled basis.Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and annual inventory counts.Pride in the work you've done keeping your customers safe and, on the road, site or field!Working conditions:A team environment where hard work, concise communication and clear heads are rewarded.Consistent lifting of weights of approximately 25KG without assistance, is required.This work can be unpredictable, physical, wet, cold, windy etc. and we need someone who will be up for the challenge.This role requires nearly constant standing, crouching, or kneeling.Qualifications:Completion of a registered 4 year automotive service technician apprenticeship program.Interprovincial Red Seal Certification would be considered an asset.Must possess a valid driver’s license permitting the independent operation of a passenger vehicle.Must be able to provide a satisfactory passenger or commercial Driver’s Abstract from licensing province as requested by management.
