Position: Machining Inspector/Finisher Location: Ayr, Ontario (Near Cambridge, Kitchener/Waterloo) Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7:00AM-3:30PM; Friday 7:00AM-1:00PM Benefits: Comprehensive Health and Dental, Pension Plan, Course Reimbursement Program and many others.

Safety:

  • Adhere to Health and Safety practices, policies, and procedures, reporting any unsafe acts or hazards to JHSC member.
  • Ensure compliance with the Bend All lockout-tagout procedure.
  • Possess solid knowledge of emergency response procedures and their roles in both emergency and non-emergency evacuations.
  • Ability to be a member of the JHSC and obtain First Aid certification.
  • Follow proper PPE procedures required for different job disciplines.
  • Comply with EMS procedures related to ISO14001:2015.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide EMS solutions through designated channels.

People:

  • Communicate major inspection issues to the Machine Shop Supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and support departments.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to solve problems.

Quality:

  • Interpret mechanical drawings and tube CAD.
  • Perform accurate measurements using proper measuring tools.
  • Identify machine parts or components that do not meet specifications.
  • Make unbiased, data-driven decisions on reworking parts to specification.
  • Conduct final finishing processes to bring machine parts or components into specification.
  • Maintain calibration records.
  • Create inspection reports for all inspected machine parts and components.
  • Prepare all necessary documents to accompany shipments.

Qualifications (education & skills required) :

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a machine shop environment
  • Licensed Machinist, Millwright, or Tool & Die preferred
  • Practical experience re-working production and machined components required
  • Knowledge of Quality Inspection and completion of inspection reports
  • Experienced using measuring and gauging equipment
  • Advanced practical experience using mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill press, and polishers
  • Local travel is required
