The Controller is an accounting professional with diversified experience in manufacturing, accounting, business management, tax, audit, review, and compilation. The Controller maximizes return on financial assets through financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. The main purpose of this role is to ensure the profitability and continuity of the business for current and future growth.

Duties:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting.
Manage the payroll process and ensure accurate and timely payment to employees.
Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.
Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, optimize working capital, and includes daily treasury duties.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Manage all aspects of month end close and provide leadership with a summarize reasons for month end results based on the current state of the business and what transpired in the month.
Prepare and sign off on monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls in compliance with approved policies and procedures. And maintain fixed assets tracking for auditing and financial statements.
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and local legal requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements pertaining to payroll and fiduciary and corporate responsibilities; filing financial reports; and advising management on needed actions.
Coordinate the annual budgeting process by developing, monitoring, and enforcing the schedule and related deadlines, complete all budgeting reports for the parent company with the collaboration of the leadership team and other department heads.
Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred)
CPA designation is strongly preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance role.
Prefer 3+ years’ experience in mid-sized manufacturing environment.
Exceptional understanding of manufacturing processes, overhead calculation and allocation, standard costing, inventory control, job reporting, labor analysis and reporting.
Financial Skills including understanding US/CAN GAAP – Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Solid understanding and experience with ERP systems.
Strong MS Excel skills.
Strong analysis skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.

This position has a salary range starting at $85,000 CAD with a target bonus of 20%
