Tandem is recruiting for a FULL-TIME POSITION as an INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER POSITION with a minimum of 3 years of experience to support our client’s projects in our WINDSOR, ON LOCATION .

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with electrical focus or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an engineering environment
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and basic construction and design of electrical distribution systems and various electrical studies
  • Knowledge of ESA, CSA, and other industry standards
  • Must be able to perform fieldwork with minimum supervision (manufacturing, industrial, commercial, institutional, and construction environments)
  • Must be able to work in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Electrical modelling software is considered an asset.
  • Instrumentation and control experience are considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD is required.
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Experience in BIM 360 and Inventor
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Software
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly motivated, with superb interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and fluctuating schedules.
  • Must have superior time management skills and the ability to multi-task with multiple projects.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and attention to detail.

Necessary Requirements for Applicants:

  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain work permit in the United States
  • Be willing and able to cross the border, for required support of our US or Canadian customers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Develop electrical schematics/layouts (SLD, power distribution, lighting layouts, panel schedules, load calculations, etc.) based on project deliverables.
  • Prepare cost estimates and various reports based on collected data (power studies, Arc Flash, etc.) for Senior reviewers.
  • Liaise with Clients and Local Distribution Companies
  • Assist in Contract Administration (prepare Form of Tender documentation, organize specifications, review tender submissions, etc.)
  • Performs field checks for gathering data, measurements verification and coordination.
  • Perform Construction Administration during construction, systems start-ups and system buyoffs.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
