Iron Bridge Fabrication Inc. is a metal fabrication company that specializes in Highway Bridge welded wide flange girders, tub girders, cable stayed bridges, truss bridges and Corten pedestrian bridges. Additionally, we excel at large custom metal fabrication and service customers in the Government, Industrial, and Agricultural sectors. Established in 2011, we have experience sustained growth since inception. We are now located in New Hamburg, Ontario (15 minutes west of Kitchener-Waterloo) in our new, purpose built, state of the art facility. We take a team approach to everything we do, both internally and with our clients. As a result, we remain on a path of continual growth.

We are looking for a bright, motivated team player to join us, and fill the role of Metal Fabricator.

Description of Roll

A Metal Fabricator is part of the production team. Involved in project discussions, communicating with the design department, and plant manager, to produce high quality steel fabrications. The Metal Fabricator will be provided shop drawings and project specific instructions from which to perform the required tasks including layout, cutting, fitting and welding of steel structures and components. The Metal Fabricator works primarily under the direction of the Project Foreperson and the Plant Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties

As a Metal Fabricator your duties will include:

• Reading and understanding fabrication shop drawings
• Layout, fit and weld prefabricated components, sub-assemblies and complete structures within given tolerances and specifications.
• Fabricate pedestrian and vehicular truss bridges, welded wide flange highway bridges, and other large size custom components and assemblies
• Produce high quality accurate jigs and fixtures
• Quality control checks, de-burring, labeling, packaging of finished parts
• Safely and efficiently operate forklifts, overhead cranes, set-up and operate common fabrication equipment

Qualifications and Skills

• A positive, can-do attitude with excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn and share new ideas
• Organized, self-motivated, able to manage time efficiently
• CWB certified in FCAW Flat position
• Are CWB certified in FCAW All positions, GMAW Flat position, SMAW All position
• Red Seal Certified Metal Fabricator
• 5 Years’ experience in a similar roll

Hourly Rate: $22-36/hour

Salary : $22.00-$36.00 per hour
