The City is committed to the professional development of our staff and invite you to come, grow with us!Reporting to the Manager of Road Compliance & Contracts, the Operational Services Technologist is responsible for providing leadership and technical support in the planning, design, monitoring, analysis, evaluation, delivery and modification of Right of Way programs. The Technologist participates in and supports, office administration,Right of Way compliance projects such as systems analysis, data base administration (DBA), compliance tracking, inventory tracking, inspection scheduling, technical support for projects and maintenance programs.The position will recommend improvement strategies in the delivery of services to meet mandated goals and objectives in compliance with all applicable legislation as well as City policies. The Technologist will promote teamwork and integration across Operational Services and Public Works, with both customers and outside agencies and participates in cross-functional initiatives. Qualifications Three (3) year post-secondary diploma in Transportation, Construction or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalentOver (3) years' of previous demonstrated technical experience in a Public Works environmentPrevious experience managing GIS software as well as other electronic devices, tablets and software programs ARCGIS, AVL and mobile inspection applicationsDemonstrated ability to manage and prioritize large, multi-faceted projectsKnowledge of applicable legislation such as the Municipal Act, Highway Traffic Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other municipal and provincial legislationBook 7 Traffic Control training or knowledge would be considered an assetPrevious experience performing roads related duties, with emphasis on inspection, technology and patrolA valid Class G Driver s license, maintained in good standing As a condition of employment, proof of current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications will be required.
