JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales & Business Development Representative will be responsible for managing the sales of Conestoga Meats' (CM) fresh and frozen products. These responsibilities include but are not limited to achieving sales volume and financial objectives; monitoring and selling fresh and frozen inventory proactively ensuring a healthy margin; developing and maintaining strong and effective customer relationships; being aligned with and executing the department's initiatives and strategies; providing effective, timely, and concise communication throughout the internal and external organization as it pertains to Conestoga Meats' business. Growing company with opportunity to grow with team and department Stable full-time hours; no rotating shifts Employee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire) Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of service Pension plan and company matching at 1 year of service Floater day given on top of vacation days Diverse workforce; translation of communication materials into 8 languages Discounts on quality pork products Employee assistance program (financial assistance, mental health resources) Social Committee events (food trucks, gifts, games) BBQ's and wellness programs On-site training and company provided equipment Employee scholarship program and English courses KEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Selling: Primary customer interface with midlevel level customers closing sales through email and phone communication with some customer onsite meetings Develop and manage key business relationships to identify opportunities and plan for account growth Sell off the price list, optimize value proposition for customers and CMP Create and manage a customer portfolio strategy for the top 10 clients in assigned portfolio to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships Achieve and surpass sales targets to grow volume and improve contribution margin Nurture and grow new & existing accounts as well as assist in identifying and securing new customers Prepare and present proposals and contract quotes for internal and external customers Maintain accurate pricing and sales reports for his/her accounts Analyze and identify selling opportunities based on internal and external data Demonstrate a strong understanding of customer requirements to fine-tune and make recommendations to short to mid-term sales pricing strategies Monitor daily volume and inventories versus forecast and assist in the facilitation and disposition of surplus products Establish short and mid-term pricing recommendations in conjunction with daily/weekly price negotiations with key customer decision-makers Product and Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of product specifications and processes Strengthen understanding of related market conditions that influence overall profitability and competitiveness Confidently conduct customer tours in all areas of the plant May be required to represent Conestoga Meats at trade shows and industry meetings Other: Adhere to all company policies and business code of ethics Be a champion for upholding, growing, and stewarding the Conestoga Way culture and our core values Other duties and responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: 1 - 3 years of sales experience or customer service experience Post-secondary education preferred Experience working in the fresh protein/disassembly industry preferred Excellent interpersonal skills Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics Willingness to travel Knowledge of principles and methods for showcasing, promoting, and selling products Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects at the same time with limited supervision, excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel Technologically savvy and able to learn various enterprise systems Possess strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills Maintain excellent communication and relationships with others; be a team player; maintain a positive attitude, and work collaboratively and cross-functionally Proactive problem solver with a focus on continuous improvement KEY COMPETENCIES: Accountability and Initiative Takes initiative and demonstrates a "do whatever it takes" work ethic to get the job done Helps to assess the pros and cons of taking a risk, and makes recommendations on the best course of action Service Excellence Maintains genuine relationships with customers and stays on top of changing business needs Displays personal ownership and a sense of urgency over any issues or complaints that arise from the customer experience If this sounds like the job for you, please submit your resume online at .
