Job Description Junior Litigation Paralegal Are you looking for a stimulating and dynamic job? We are currently looking for a litigation paralegal for one of our clients, a law firm. Responsibilities: • Actively contribute to various practice group initiatives, seek ways to improve the group, and contribute to its success, while participating in ongoing training programs. • Organize and manage a significant number of complex files, including the management of ongoing delays, deadlines, and tasks. • Gather, organize, analyze, and summarize factual information (exhibits, contracts, documents, correspondence, etc.) and prepare notes and summary tables for lawyers and clients. • Manage internal databases and proficiently use various litigation software programs (eDiscovery). • Assist in the preparation, management, and response to requests for documents. • Participate in the preparation of examinations and summaries of transcripts. • Draft initial versions of letters, demand letters, and proceedings. • Conduct various legislative, doctrinal, and jurisprudential searches and prepare draft arguments. • Prepare correspondence and expense reports. • Compile books of authorities, proceedings, and undertakings. • Create PowerPoint presentations for clients or the court. • Assist lawyers in trial preparation and attend trial as needed. • Communicate with courts, clients, opposing parties, and others in the judicial system. • Perform other related duties. What you need to succeed: • DEC in Paralegal Studies or equivalent experience. • 1 to 3 years similar position or relevant experience. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. • Knowledge of specialized litigation software. • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and organize documents meticulously and rigorously. • Ability to work both independently and as a team player. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and courteously. • Ability to perform high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. • Proactive in the search for solutions and the next steps. • Available to work outside regular hours on occasion. • Bilingual in English and French (spoken and written).
