The Manager, BC City Operations (MCO) is responsible for the day-to-day performance of City Operation. This includes the overall costs and efficiencies associated within our regional business. This is accomplished by the development and improvement of our drivers, office staff, client relations, and contractors. The MCO is responsible for ensuring that all of the fleet’s planning & dispatch goals, issues and concerns are addressed effectively. This is accomplished through daily communication, training, and the ongoing development of a solid working relationship with all assigned regional staff. This also includes identifying all actual concerns, gathering, and providing all relevant background information, reporting on how the issue was handled, and recommendation of any necessary follow-up action. Excellent communication and a professional attitude are basic requirements, along with good perception skills and the ability to anticipate situations before they become inflated by applying sound judgment.Specific responsibilities include:Operations personnel look to this position for vision, direction and support in day to day activities. It is a critical part of the MCO’s role to ensure that all of the employee’s needs are met in these regards.Provide performance management, coaching, mentoring and development opportunities to the team.Oversee the human resource needs of the city group, including:Participate in the interview and hiring processesCross-train personnel and oversee staff internal and external training programsReview and provide input into department compensationStaff scheduling (minimum, peak, holiday, etc)Accountable for the overall execution and results of assigned regional areas and ensure execution on Customer commitments with respect to service.Working as a member of the Operations Management Team to affect group strategies to achieve departmental goals.Have an excellent understanding of all clients, their stage of development, their operational requirements and Bison’s system of serving them.Accountable for the overall execution and results of assigned regional planning areas.Involves any other duties that may be assigned from time to time, on a daily or permanent basis.Our Ideal Candidate will possess:3-5 years in a similar leadership role managing day-to-day operations.
