Our resort is not owned or operated by a large ski conglomerate; rather by a bunch of local skiers and riders who are passionate about steep terrain and great snow. Operational decisions are made here (head office = the basement of the day lodge) and our long-term direction is plotted by a group of passionate, volunteer board of directors who represent more than 200, predominately local shareholders.

Position Overview : Inspire and coach young athletes as part of the Livingstone Ski Academy (LSA) in beautiful southwest Alberta. A unique opportunity for mid-week coaching. Academy coaches are specifically responsible for the delivery of the training plan set forth for the Livingstone Ski Academy (LSA), an innovative school program that blends personalized education with on mountain professional race, free style and Big Mountain coaching. This program runs Tues afternoon, Friday All Day. : What we offer you :

  • Wages: ½ day ($60-$105) or full day ($140-$245) - rate is dependent on certifications and experience.

  • Hold the following certifications (minimum):

  • CSIA Level 2 or equivalent

  • CAA AST 1 (can be obtained within the first 30 days of employment)

  • 2 Years experience as an advanced intermediate to advanced level instructor/ coach.

  • Experience working with Learn to Ski and Train to Train Athletes in a non-competitive setting.

  • Able to attend all training sessions and all program sessions with the exception of three dates.

  • Able to work additionally as a full time member of the snow school, or competitive clubs.

  • Experience in an alpine resort similar to Castle Mountain.

  • Expert off-piste skiing skills consistent with Castle Mountain Resort’s terrain. **- CSIA Level 2 or higher

  • Air 1,2 3 and 4

  • CFSA or CSIA Park & Pipe

  • L100 IFSA (online course)

  • Race background

  • Freestyle and Free-ride background.

  • 3 Years experience as an advanced intermediate to advanced level instructor/ coach in an alpine environment or competitive program.

  • Are a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or a hold a valid Canadian work visa.

What you will be doing :

  • Understanding and delivering the training plan based on a rotational schedule.
  • Completing progress reports on each athlete and reviewing progress with other program staff as required.
  • Continually improving own technical skills to better serve the client
  • Update report system weekly with video, objectives and assessments.
  • Proficient with video equipment, cell phone and computers.

Where We Are : Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location with no mobile coverage or public transit.
