The Opportunity Canopy Growth is looking for a Senior Regulatory Affairs Associate to join the team. This individual will ensure compliance with applicable legislation while promoting best practices across all Canopy sites. The ideal candidate is familiar with Cannabis Regulations and has superb communication skills to effectively liaise with multiple departments.Responsibilities Effective management of regulatory affairs in adherence to the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations, and facilitation of cannabis licensing through effective communication with the Cannabis Directorate at Health CanadaAssist with facilitation of regulatory inspections for Canopy Growth sites through independent communications with internal inspection teams and guided communications with government agencies. When called upon by management, capable to be the primary liaison with a Health Canada inspector during an inspectionAssigned to complex regulatory projects, and able to support the business with little oversightProvide business-friendly regulatory advice with respect to multiple regulatory frameworks and jurisdictions (i.e. cannabis, consumer products, medical devices, etc.)Prioritize and complete multiple assignments within established timeframesIdentify regulatory issues and take the lead to identify and implement solutions in consultation with stakeholdersBuild and maintain cooperative internal and cross-functional working relationships while participating in, and supporting, regulatory affairs activities such as licensing, labelling, inventory reporting, marketing, and new product developmentProvide regulatory support for gustatory testingAssist management in mentoring more junior regulatory affairs team membersOther duties as assignedExperienceB.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Pharmacology, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or other life sciences, or extensive experience and related training in regulatory affairsPost-Graduate Regulatory Certification or RAC(CAN) preferred3-5 years experience in regulatory affairs working within the Canadian regulatory affairs jurisdictionPrevious knowledge and experience in any of the following regulatory frameworks should be noted, and highlighted: Cannabis Regulations, Natural Health Product Regulations, Hemp Regulations, Food and Drug Regulations, and Consumer Packaging and Labelling Regulations, Tobacco and Vaping Products Act, and associated Acts Proven ability to adhere to standards/procedures and maintain confidentialityExperience working in a Quality Management SystemStrong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe AcrobatExcellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal)Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and handle fluctuating workloadsAble to effectively work with other departments to achieve objectivesPreference will be given to candidates with previous experience working with the former Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, the Cannabis Regulations and/or the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
