Summary The Production Control Specialist(s) is responsible for the timely and accurate scheduling for the production of all finished goods and mixed cheese. This position supports operations staff by organizing production orders, materials to be used within the Bill of Materials (BOM), managing and controlling Work in Process (WIP) and introduction of Rework product into daily operations. This position will require technical and specific information of the Item master file, Production BOMs, Variants, SKUs, Work Centres and Routings within the ERP system as well as technical and operations knowledge of Shop Floor.  The Production Control Specialist provides assistance in reviewing consumption, quality inspections and time card entries within specific work centers throughout the day. Responsibilities Prepares daily production operational plan and supports on floor leadership to manage the plan throughout the day should plans change.  Responsible for creating new production orders each day if necessary. Responsible for adding variants to the production orders if necessary. Effectively support the production schedule on all production lines and co-ordinate floor leadership to ensure daily plans are known. Manage Work in Process (WIP) to ensure that inventory is used based on quality specifications and does not expire.  Work with team to ensure WIP into daily production efficiently and effectively to maximize product throughput. Change Bill of Materials (BOM) for production orders where WIP is being introduced. Manage Consume bin to ensure that inventory is effectively moved in/out throughout the day.  Work with team to ensure that all product not used is moved out of the consume bin each day. Report on any inventory scanning issues that occur throughout the day and work with inventory team to resolve. Review quality inspections for each work center to ensure they are being done and there are no operational issues detected. Review time entries for each work center to ensure they are being done and there are no operational issues detected. Responsible for monitoring and accuracy of all WIP and rework inventory with goal of no cheese left beyond expiration date. Responsible for managing the cheese in the consume bin, cheese used in the production orders, cheese moved in/out of the cooler to ensure that no cheese is left or missed in inventory. Liaise between Production Planner and Production Manager to ensure adherence to production plan daily. Liaise with inventory staff to ensure product required for production is on the floor and take action if anything is missing.  Ensure product not required for production is off the floor at end of evening shift. Ensure all WIP product is weighed and labelled.  Responsible for all work instruction set up on all work centers for all finished goods product in Business Central Responsible for all routing link code setup on all work centers on routings and items on BOMs Responsible for set up of all quality inspections for all work centers. A daptable to continuous change is important. Excellent level with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Business Central and Shop Floor. Ensure excellent operating performance through identifying opportunities and implementing improvements in overall planning process and systems design Who you are: College diploma 2 years experience in production planning an asset Experience in the food manufacturing industry preferred Work experience with Operations preferred Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the team Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
