SUMMARY – Dispatcher – Level 2 Part-timeShifts: Saturday & Sunday ; 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.Location: New Westminster Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, the Dispatcher 2 role is accountable for driver success and responsible for all items related to ensuring the driver hits all operational targets while maintaining a professional safety record. Meeting the major responsibilities of this role require that many tasks in the course of the work hours are completed. This role must effectively communicate with drivers, vendors, managers, customers, and other dispatchers.This role is the Subject Matter Expert on dispatching related questions and issues. The role should like working closely with other departments and groups of professionals like a versatile and resourceful partner to collaborate with on various tasks. Providing a high quality and cost-effective deliveries and pickups facilitated through communication with drivers and vendors. Our fleet team will be satisfied once our drivers have successfully met their full potential. As a leader within TransX, the position is expected to align with the TransX Core Values for Teamwork, Safety, Innovation, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect.KEY ACTIVITIESArrange for Deliveries and PickupsSchedule deliveries and pickupsCommunicate with customers to arrange times for shipments to be picked upCreating pre-determined routes to ensure efficient time & costMake necessary changed to routes throughout the day as indicated by customer requests and shipping arrangement Strong understanding of transportation regulations and laws is critical when arranging for deliveries and pickupsCreate Shipping and Dispatch DocumentsMaintain records of dispatched calls, driver routes, delivery and pick up times, and truck repairs and maintenanceLog customer shipping schedules and complainsMaintain any details regarding route changesIf necessary, keep records of driver training sessionsGenerate Bills and InvoicesCreate billing and invoice documents for shipments Ensuring that drivers receive any necessary documents before making a pickupInvoice customers for payment of shipment pickups and handle any issues regarding charged for these services. Ability to use dispatch softwareSKILLS & KNOWLEDGEEducationPost-Secondary Education – PreferredExperience2-3 years of previous Dispatch experience is required Experience with programs such as Excel and TMW A positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills Previous experience and a passion for customer service Strong Written and Oral communication skills Strong organizational and priority management skills High tolerance for ambiguity Ability to multitaskAbility to work under minimal to no supervision Previous experience in the Transportation Industry or Logistics & Supply Chain is considered an asset. Able to accurately identify and proactively make appropriate suggestions to resolve any problemsKnowledge of the trucking industry and associated rules and regulations (ex.
