Our Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for heavy industrial structural engineering. The successful candidate must have demonstrated success working within a multi-disciplined heavy industrial environment, ideally as a consulting engineer. Mentorship of new and junior employees is a key part of this role and our organization. you will also continually foster and grow strong relationships with our clients. 

A Day in the Life

  • Preparation of engineering designs and related documents for various projects 
  • Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations
  • Collaborate with and supervise structural team, comprised of engineers, designers, project coordinators, and others, to develop engineering design and related documents
  • Meet with clients to understand project needs and scope requirements
  • Create proposals and fee estimates
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues to ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards
  • Manage client relations at both a technical and commercial level to achieve client satisfaction and leverage further opportunities
  • What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural and registered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC
  • 5-8 years of structural engineering experience
  • Proven experience engineering for heavy industrial projects
  • Experience in the design of concrete and steel structures
  • Proven experience and demonstrated understanding of delivering projects on schedule, on budget, in scope at the required quality and achieving client satisfaction
  • Building design is an asset, retaining wall, substructures
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written)
  • Proven ability to interact with clients and to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Technical competence and strong attention to detail
