 Recreation Coop Student Are you interested in applying your talents and knowledge and gaining valuable experience? The City of Abbotsford has a fourmonth coop opportunity starting May , with an hourly wage of $19.21 – $24.47 dependent on year of study. If you are goaloriented, accountable, and have a strong desire to contribute, we want to hear from you. This position will work from Abbotsford Recreation Centre located at McMillan Rd, Abbotsford. What you will do: Assist the Community Recreation Coordinator and Programmers with all aspects of community recreation program support and administrative tasks Assist with summer day camp programs, Assist with Recreation special events Assist with seasonal program offerings. Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Enrolled in a Recreation / Leisure Services program is preferred, or related discipline, at a post secondary institution Ability to teach sport and recreation skills and manage large groups of children Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite Strong customer service skills Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written Good interpersonal and organizational skills Able to provide a current police information check Ability to work flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends Valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License; Drivers Abstract will be required when applying Application instructions: A cover letter, resume and transcript are required.
