Summary

The Dispatcher is an integral part of the PDI National Cranes team and will be responsible for the coordinating, tracking, and maintaining of all dispatch functions. This will include managing high volume calls, invoicing, and forecasting revenue. The dispatcher will assist in completing operational tasks all while proactively communicating integral information between operators and customers in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Duties

  • Assist with the coordination and execute the daily dispatch plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of outbound execution.
  • Co-ordinate and plan with department peers too effectively and efficiently dispatch and schedule operators and equipment on a day to day basis.
  • Answer and record all emergency and non-emergency calls in a timely manner.
  • Various types of data entry tasks in multiple software systems - high focus on Excel.
  • Effectively oversee the route of equipment and track delivery status.
  • Discuss and resolve any dispatch related issues with the ability to provide business/process improvement suggestions to management team.
  • Support dispatch foreman with receiving and dispatching orders when required.
  • Provides administrative assistance to team.
  • Duties also include general office administration work, copying, filing as required.

Position Requirements

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • College program in logistics or equivalent business-related experience preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a dispatch/call center environment
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Strong emphasis on Excel. Also, Outlook and Word
  • Experience with SM Management is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Very organized, with excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service/communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Able to work well under pressure
