Break through at Brock.Post End Date:July 5, 2024PHIL 1F90 - Introduction to Philosophy: Philosophical Classics and Contemporary LifeCompensation Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds. · Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ per hour. · Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ per hour. · In cases where additional duties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate. Duties The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.Qualifications ● Applicants must have achieved a minimum of 80% in the course or course equivalent;● Be currently enrolled in a degree program for or already have completed an MA in Philosophy;● Must have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to explain subject material to students;● Experience with internet platforms for teaching is an asset (, Teams, Sakai, and/or LifeSize);● Proven track record of working effectively with others;● The successful applicant must be punctual in attending classes and be able to meet appropriate deadlines
