Description SummaryThis position is responsible for providing support to software development and testing activities during the bundle development and integration phases by ensuring that the Systems Engineering Support Contract (SESC) team understands Department of National Defense (DND) requirements and clarifies them as required. Additionally, the incumbent is required to participate in testing of the modified system and to provide feedback to the development and test teams. Finally, this position is also responsible for helping increase CAE’s CF-18 operational knowledge.Your challengesDevelop requirements with the client; develop test plan; write/code tests; execute operational tests (on avionics benches, integrated benches, full simulator and the aircraft); report anomalies; software qualification before deployment on CF-18 fleet.Test improvements and/or the design of new functionalities for the following three onboard software applications: mission computers, armament computer and communication control unit.Innovative and captivating projects that optimize the operational effectiveness of the CF-18. Among others: improve performance indicators of missile and new GPS and LASER guided bombs, develop GPS navigation, integrate new infrared sensor, integrate new MIDS data transmission system, etc.Possibility of supporting the Canadian Armed Forces on the ground during flight exercises (Cougar South, Combat Archer, Bold Quest, Maple Flag, etc.).Work will be performed mostly in Mirabel. Travelling to Forces bases (Canadian and American) in support of customers.Your strengthsBachelor of engineering.Former CF18 Pilot (an asset)Professional experience in testing.Knowledge of Software Development lifecycle (an asset).Knowledge of aeronautics and/or avionics and/or testing (a must).Knowledge of military aircraft systems operation, avionics systems, testing procedures, Integrated Test Facilities or simulators (a must)Ability to work on a team and interact with different multidisciplinary groups.Ability to communicate in English and French (spoken and written) on a technical subject.Operational requirementsMust be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program.Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.Main work location is not accessible via public transportation.
