POSITION OVERVIEW

This is an intermediate/senior position intended to provide the successful candidate with an opportunity for professional growth within CEM Engineering.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support to Project Managers
• Maintain Electrical Design hour budget
• Follow project schedule to successfully complete project milestones on time.
• Coordinate with, and support Engineers as required
• Coordinate, lead and support Electrical Designers, as required
• Coordinate with, and support Mechanical Designers, as required
• Coordinate with, and support Sub-Consultants, as required
• Attend site visits as required to collect project information
• Attend regularly scheduled project meetings and provide progress updates to the team
• Run Internal and External 3D Model Reviews, as required in Navisworks Simulate
• Adheres to company policy, practice and procedures
• Maintains confidentiality in regards to CEM information and their clients as required by Privacy Legislation and CEM Policies and Procedures.
• Coaches and mentors’ less experienced team members
• Creation/modification/review of the following Electrical deliverables (following CEM or Client standards):

• General Arrangements Equipment Layouts
• Cable Tray Layouts
• Conduit/Duct Bank Layouts
• Grounding Layouts and Details
• SLD
• 3 Line Diagrams
• Cable Block Diagrams
• AC Schematics
• DC Schematics
• Panel Layouts
• Logic Diagrams
• Control Architecture Diagrams
• Loop Diagrams
• PLC Wiring
• Interdisciplinary review of CEM drawings
• Review of Vendor Drawings
• PFD as required
• P&ID as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technician or Technologist
• Experience in the consulting engineering sector
• Minimum 12-15 years’ experience in industrial electrical design
• Proficient use of 2D and 3D AutoCAD software
• Familiarity with Navisworks software
• 3D Modelling experience (without supervision), required
• High Voltage Experience is an asset
• Work with Electrical Modeling Software (EasyPower, ETAP, Paladin) is an asset
• Steam and Power experience desirable

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Support the Manager of Design Services with miscellaneous tasks including projects, Department and corporate requirements.
• Willingness to assist in setting/updating standards for the Design Services Department and always abide by them.
• Willingness to share his/her experience and knowledge with colleagues of different technical backgrounds.
• Willing to travel occasionally to job sites and other third-party offices.
