Great Place to Work Certified Accountant (Hybrid) - Temporary 16 Month Contract Reports to: Financial Controller Location: Vancouver, BC Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 We are looking for a self-starter and collaborative Accountant to join COBS Bread on temporary 15 - 18 month contract. This role will be responsible for the company’s accounting practices, full-cycle accounts receivable, preparation of period financial reports and cash flows as well as construction project reconciliations. The position will support annual audit and tax, and be responsible for preparation of statutory reporting requirements for both Canada and the USA. Responsibilities Include: Oversee the maintenance of books of account (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash).  Prepare monthly / quarterly financial (profit and loss) statements for Financial Controller and VP of Finance  Oversee full cycle accounts receivable and asset management  Maintain quarterly and year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews with support from the Financial Controller and VP of Finance  Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization's books of account.  Responsible for managing the project reconciliation of new build projects and renovations    Daily banking and monthly reconciliations Assisting with development and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.  Preparing monthly statutory returns.  Other duties as assigned  Requirements What You Bring to the Table Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required  CPA certification series preferred  3+ years of accounting experience in corporate and commercial environments  3+ years of experience in general ledger accounting such as a certificate or diploma in bookkeeping or accounting Experience in statutory reporting and remittances across multiple jurisdictions    General understanding of computerized accounting systems Intermediate skills in MS Word, Quick-books and Excel Excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written at all levels of the organization Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts Understanding of accounting practices and procedures Knowledge of Sage/Accpac or other accounting software Benefits What’s in it for You Not only do we have fresh COBS Bread product delivered daily to our Support Office, we offer some pretty sweet perks too!
