Learning & Development Trainer

Lock Search Group is pleased to present an exciting opportunity to join an industry leader in the optometry space. Our client is looking for a Learning & Development Trainer to be based in the Greater Vancouver Area, British Columbia .

This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of all training programs. They will use a variety of techniques including classroom training, in-office training, online training, and other technologies. Additionally, they will identify and assess the training needs of members, recommend improvements to skill training, new hire orientation and training programs, corporate wide training programs and initiatives, and recommend improvements when requested.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide direction on training implementation, procedures, and best practices
  • Facilitate all training programs with a high degree of professionalism and organization
  • Create new in-office trainings based on membership needs
  • Communicate and collaborate with other members on the team concerning areas that they can assist for member in-office training, assessments, and/or opportunities
  • Provide training and/or support for the company and at industry events
  • Support training colleagues as required
  • Offer strong customer service both internal and external to the organization

The experience you bring:

  • Provincial license or certification by a nationally accredited association such as an Optician or Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant (CCOA)
  • Committed to excelling as a member of a high performing team
  • Able to self motivate as well as work within a team both in person and virtually
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to navigate and tailor training to various learning styles
  • Pays attention to detail and results orientated
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the region as needed
