Job Summary: As a Mechanic at First Student, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of the children who count on us for a ride to and from school in those classic yellow buses.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
  • Complete work orders
  • Assist with mobile emergency services
  • Use diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues needing repair work

About the Role: As a Mechanic at First Student, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles. You will use your diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues and complete work orders in a timely manner. You will also assist with mobile emergency services and ensure that our vehicles are safe for road travel.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL (we will train you for this)
  • Mechanic's tool set
  • Ability to grow, learn, and develop your skillset through ASE testing
