Job Position : Lime Kiln Operator

Type : Permanent Full Time

Position Location : Terrace Bay, ON Ontario.

Role Overview : Key Responsibilities Include :

• Read Manuals
• Is responsible for day to day safe and effective operation of both lime kilns
• Maintain good communication within and outside of the department
• Have a good understanding of the operation of the recaust plants
• Read log book from previous shifts
• Fully understand the consequences of a kiln drive failure and what must be done to prevent catastrophic failure
• Report any deficiencies noticed during his regular rounds to the appropriate trade person and Shift Engineer
• Operate within centerlines and report reasons why out of centerlines
• Constant monitoring of kiln temperatures and adjust as required
• Constant monitoring of kiln O2 and adjust as required
• Ensure NCG and SOG’s are burned in the kiln
• Write job orders as required
• Lock out equipment as required
• Follow all proper housekeeping duties
• Take kiln trunion temperature readings every shift
• Do the required testing on a regular basis and log the results on the log sheet (solids testing, scrubber slurry and filtrate, residual carbonate, etc.)
• Test run both auxiliary drive motors every Monday
• Must follow Standard Operating Procedures for doing tasks

Qualifications : Education : High School Diploma/GED or equivalent

Experience : Experience in a manufacturing setting will be considered an asset. High level of integrity and conviction. Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.

Language requirement : English.

Salary Range - $32.44/hr
