As a Manager, Facilities, you will be responsible for facilities management and portfolio property management operations, overseeing the operational excellence of Canada’s largest diagnostic lab facility, and over 100 Lab and Health Service Centre Collection sites across Ontario, including mission critical facilities and supporting infrastructure. Working with the Director, Real Estate and Facilities, this role fosters a culture of safety, quality and internal and external customer service. Advanced HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Plumbing knowledge Mission critical facilities – Generators, UPS, CRAC units, and associated MEP equipment Critical and non-critical Building Operations, maintenance and repair Workplace strategy o Construction and Project ManagementCompliance focused - lead local compliance with all building codes and requirements.Building, fire, environment, health and safety, and lab regulations, codes and standards. Establish, monitor, measure and report Laboratory Facilities performance metrics; analyze and identify issues impacting operational performance and establish initiatives for continuous improvement. Lead AODA requirements for buildingsManage local environment, health, safety and security protocolsCo-lead local Joint Health and Safety committees Lead fire and evacuation committees where required and ensure appropriate training Lead spill response ensuring equipment, communications and processes are in place Management of onsite life-safety and emergency equipment Lead security of perimeter and access Develop, implement and review control mechanisms and processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and Dynacare requirements and to ensure mitigation of risksCustomer service - Be inclusive and encourage trust and open communication by addressing staff concerns and inquiries.Development of internal service level agreements Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary to ensure on time solution Monitors quality - coordinate system repairs and monitors system performance (Lab and LHSC, Corporate offices) such as chemical disposal, HVACVendor management – assess and monitor performance and be solutions focused such as contracting out landscaping and snow removal servicesLead RFPs and establish a network to support the operation Assist with the communication of information in a concise and timely manner to all staff regarding policy and facility changes and other pertinent issuesPeople leadership - oversee and supervise team of maintenance employees to provide appropriate coverage for a 24-hour operation;Manage department requirements; this includes staffing, training, performance evaluation, coaching and recognition.Operations planning - manage the departmental business planning and goal development process, including developing and executing a one-year business plan.Process and engineering approach - establish po-active preventative maintenanceFinancial knowledge - coordinate capital projects and procurement required for facilities and ensure change management and financial controls are in placeWhat YOU bring to the role: Experience in Implementation of Help Desk Ticketing systems, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Computer Assisted Facility Management Systems (CAFM) and Building Automation Systems (BMS) Capability to understand the scientific and technical functioning of the Operational and Clinical Departments - read and interpret blue prints and technical drawings, utilize CAD, VISIO, Microsoft Project, and ExcelAdvanced experience in facility business continuity and emergency preparedness planning and execution.Advanced knowledge in complex industrial laboratory building infrastructure and related systemsSuperior demonstrated understanding of the principles and processes for providing customer service skills, including strong written and oral communications with the goal of exceeding quality standards for servicesStrategic and pro-active thinker, lean, reliability-centred approach to trouble-shooting and problem solvingIn-depth knowledge of management reportsFull proficiency with MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Experience in applying project management principles and techniquesAbility to effectively manage constraints and competing priorities; ability to multi-task and demonstrated success in bothStrong decision-making ability to effectively manage constraints and competing prioritiesDevelop and nurture a culture of health and safety, security, quality, environmental stewardship, service, performance, innovation, adaptiveness and consistencyCapacity to effectively communicate to the management and executive teamsEffective time management skillsLeadership skills – seasoned professional with strong leadership acumen, including experience in mentoring and coaching individual and teamsPassionate about supporting healthy lives with commitment and care?
