QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceRegistration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.POSITIONS ASSIGNED TO SUPPORT NSWOC NURSES ALSO REQUIRE: Graduated from a recognized nursing program with Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) certification for Nurses who specialize in Wound, Ostomy and Continence, or completion of the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Program or Masters in Wound HealingPost-secondary courses in Adult Education, Process Improvement and/or Change ManagementThree (3) or more years of direct experience in adult education, quality improvement and/or policy/procedural developmentExperience working with Indigenous groups and fostering Indigenous relations with a focus on Truth and Reconciliation Calls to ActionsKnowledge of program relevant legislation, policies and standardsKnowledge of current, evidence-based gerontological issues and standardsValid BC Driver's LicenseAn equivalent combination of training and experience may be consideredSkills And AbilitiesAbility to provide leadership to staff and peersAbility to work independentlyEffective interpersonal, organizational and teaching skillsAbility to communicate with clients and their families, physicians and colleagues from within Island Health as well as external organizationsAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingPhysical ability to carry out the duties of the position
